Program

At Tapestry we recognize that the process of change is highly personal.

While at Tapestry you participate in intensive 12-15 hour a day treatment which involves all meals and snacks. Our treatment model is a combination of cognitive behavioral, insight oriented, problem solving and skill building approaches. Solution focused therapy techniques are incorporated with an in depth exploration of family dynamics, body image, abuse, relationships, personal issues or additional psychiatric problems such as a concurrent chemical dependency or mood disorder (bi-polar or depression).

As each resident is unique in her treatment needs, every resident will have an individualized treatment schedule. However, there are several aspects of the program that are the same for each person. Your stay will begin with an orientation by a therapist, followed by a group session for residents to introduce themselves. You will see the Doctor upon admission and then as needed by your specific needs. Finally, another resident will be your support peer for the first week.

The treatment program at Tapestry does involve doctor visits as needed, but our main focus is on therapy instead of medication. Some of the therapy programs we use are:

  • equestrian
  • yoga
  • art
  • massage
  • imago
  • trager
  • exercise physiology
  • body image
  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
  • family therapy
  • biblio-therapy
  • meditation
  • recreation therapy
