About Us
Tapestry
is unique from most residential eating disorders programs in the
United States because it is a voluntary, community based
program. Because Tapestry is voluntary, it is an excellent
program for motivated self starting women who want to make
positive changes in their lives. However, it is not for every
woman who has an eating disorder. The length of treatment varies, but the average is six to eight weeks, and may require up to six months for maximum therapeutic effectiveness. Your motivation and the severity of the disorder influence the length and level of recommended care. We provide continuing support and follow-up to help you maintain and grow your healing process.
Your first question might be "how is it different from other programs?" While Tapestry’s
many treatment elements may be similar to other programs, our core abiding principle is centered around
your individual needs, your willingness, and your voluntary participation. In Tapestry, you are not a diagnosis; you are a human who is struggling to regain control in her life. Upon entry, you design your
treatment program with your assigned therapist. Goals are
identified collaboratively and reviewed regularly as part of
your individualized program. We do not lock cabinets,
bathrooms, doors or refrigerators. You may also come and go
from the residence. Of course, all trips outside of the
residence must be for therapeutic purposes.
Our emphasis
is on health, balance and well-being--physically,
psychologically, spiritually and nutritionally. We partner
with you to reach your goals and will assist you in
achieving the steps necessary for ongoing recovery. We do
not focus on the end product but emphasize the journey on a
daily basis. The treatment focus is on building self esteem,
inner strength, spirituality and incorporating positive life
experiences. We offer structure, support, and daily
therapeutic programming and maintain a small staff to client
ratio to insure staff members remain in touch with your
individualized goals.
Most
importantly, we believe that if you can learn to live in an
environment that more closely resembles your life outside of
treatment, you can more readily succeed when you return
home. In order to craft a calm and more home-like
environment, we serve no more than six program participants
at a time.
Our team's focus is for you to learn how to make self
motivated choices that serve you in your recovery and help
you to build a new foundation of empowerment and self
esteem.

You will find
our residence to be a haven for insight, comfort, and
support.
