At Tapestry we recognize that the process of change is highly personal, therefore, we utilize a client centered, motivational approach to treatment. Intermittent ambivalence about change is not seen as pathological, but as an ongoing part of the recovery process that must be addressed. As such, we see our role as supportive as we work with you to maintain your own motivation to continue toward your goals and increase your recovery skills.
We do this through teaching skills, providing support in a natural living environment, and emphasizing self determination and self efficacy. We see both illness and recovery as multi-dimensional; involving the biological, psychological, social and spiritual aspects of an individual's life. As a means of accessing each of these facets of recovery, we rely on the local community as a means of bringing the treatment out of our house and into a more realistic environment. We feel that if the treatment occurs in a more natural environment, it is more likely to be effective in the long term.
Finally, we strongly feel that in order to be successful in the treatment of any woman, she must engage in the treatment program voluntarily. Every resident at Tapestry is an active part of their own recovery.
Our three main treatment philosophy tenants are: We Are Client-Centered: Treatment planning is individualized, skill based, supportive & personal. We work with you towards motivational enhancement in a natural living environment. We Are Community Based:As beautiful as our environment is, we feel that our residents can only go so far without being involved in real world settings. Therefore, our program takes residents out into our community to practice new skills in the real world. All Treatment Is Voluntary:This means you participate and our dedicated staff helps you - every step of the way.

We developed Tapestry to provide an affordable alternative to the high cost of extended treatment for eating disorders; we have strong working relationships with a wide range of insurance plans in order to make your stay cost effective for you (see our tuition page for more information).
Most people mistakenly believe that their health insurance will not
cover residential mental health care. Our insurance experts will thoroughly
research and explain your benefits.
We utilize a community-based recovery model that limits cost while providing a rich interweaving of resources. Eating Disorder Treatment modalities include: Insight-oriented and cognitive-behavioral therapies, Equine Therapy, Nutritional Counseling, expressive arts groups including movement and art therapy, real-world grocery shopping and restaurant practice, healthy food preparation with a Nutritionist, DBT Skills groups, yoga, massage, Trager®, and EMDR.
Tapestry's philosophy is centered around putting recovery into the control of the client while providing support, skills training, and education by staff. We do not lock the doors to the kitchen or follow our clients to the restroom. We work with our clients to gain their trust so they are able to safely inform staff when urges to binge/purge/restrict arise. This assists in allowing the client and staff to identify triggers while in treatment, rather than be shielded from them, and relapse when faced with those triggers after discharge.
