Find a “Support” Buddy
Whether it’s a family member, significant other, or friend—having someone by your side who understands your situation and cares about your wellbeing can help immensely. Having someone around to check on you can make you feel more relaxed and less overwhelmed.
Stick to Your Normal Eating Routine
Sticking to the eating plan that has been developed with your therapist and dietitian can help make this food-centric holiday season less intimidating. Do what feels best for you, your body, and your recovery.
Don’t Overextend Yourself
This time of year brings with it many gatherings with friends and family. Remember that you don’t have to attend every party or dinner—choose to go to the events that feel comfortable for you. It’s also okay to leave an event when you feel overwhelmed. You are entitled to take care of yourself during your recovery process.
Remind Yourself That You are Strong
