Eating disorders in men are more common than people might think. Males account for about 15 percent of people with anorexia nervosa or bulimia nervosa and around 35 percent of those with binge eating disorder.
Research shows that disordered eating behaviors like fasting for weight loss, binge eating, laxative abuse and purging are almost as common in men as they are in women.
