The Road to Meaningful Living

Asheville Adult Eating Disorder Treatment

Residential Behavioral Health Program

Residential treatment is an appropriate level of care for women seeking recovery for the first time and would benefit from an immersive treatment plan with round-the-clock support. It’s also ideal for those who have been through treatment before but have since relapsed.

Our adult eating disorder residential treatment program is highly structured, but it’s designed to be non-restrictive. This allows you the freedom to grow and progress in your recovery while receiving as much support as you need.

What Does the Treatment Program Involve?

In our residential program, you’ll stay on-site with round-the-clock support as you work your treatment program. Treatment programming is scheduled between 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Many of our clients attend treatment for 6 weeks or longer, but 10 weeks or longer is the average.

Each week of our eating disorder residential treatment program includes:

  • Two individual therapy sessions
  • One family therapy session
  • Individual and group nutrition sessions with a registered dietitian
  • Menu planning, food preparation, and mealtime support
  • Dietitian-supported grocery shopping and restaurant dining
  • Therapeutic groups, including acceptance and commitment therapy skills, body image, attachment, substance abuse recovery and nutrition education
  • Art therapy
  • Equine therapy
  • Medical monitoring and medication management

To foster a calm, home-like environment where you can focus on your recovery, we limit program participation to no more than six clients at a time. You’ll reside in a house with 3-5 other people, providing a built-in support system as you each work toward recovery. Clients are spread out in cozy single and double bedrooms.

Our adult eating disorder residential treatment program is available at our Brevard location.

Adult Eating Disorder Day Treatment

Clients prepare and enjoy supportive meals together and participate in group sessions. These programs can last for up to eight hours per day.

We focus on improving body image, understanding nutrition, and balanced exercise. We strongly encourage family involvement in treatment. It is helpful for patients to have loved ones who are invested in their recovery.

Partial Hospitalization Program

Our partial hospitalization program offers treatment for men and women who are stepping down from residential care, and it’s also a good fit for those who are looking to renew their recovery. PHP clients attend 6-8 hours of treatment and group sessions a day, up to 7 days a week. Treatment schedules are flexible to allow for work, school attendance and outside obligations.

Our PHP eating disorder day treatment program includes:

  • One individual therapy session
  • One family therapy session
  • One personal nutrition session with a registered dietitian
  • Therapeutic groups, including acceptance and commitment therapy skills, body image, attachment, substance abuse recovery, and nutrition education
  • Balanced bodywork, including yoga
  • Menu planning, food preparation and mealtime support
  • Dietitian-supported grocery shopping and restaurant dining
  • Art therapy
  • Equine therapy is available as individual therapy sessions

Clients participating in our partial hospitalization program reside in comfortable condos that are adjacent to the Tapestry property. Additional off-site housing is available for clients who do not live locally.

Our adult partial hospitalization program is available at both our Brevard and Asheville locations.

Intensive Outpatient Program

Our intensive outpatient program lasts eight weeks or longer, and the schedule includes group lunches, meal planning, and grocery shopping. Clients engage in group therapies and experiential sessions in a shortened program that allows for maximum flexibility.

Each week of our IOP eating disorder day treatment program includes:

  • Menu planning, food preparation, and mealtime support
  • Dietitian-supported grocery shopping and restaurant dining
  • Art therapy
  • Equine therapy is available as individual therapy sessions

Our adult intensive outpatient program is available at both our Brevard and Asheville locations.
