Asheville Outpatient Treatment
Making the First Steps to Life Outside Inpatient Treatment
Inpatient care can feel like a different world from life outside. You have 24/7 access to compassionate care professionals, temptations are kept out of sight and out of mind, all of your treatments are within walking distance, and the environment is designed to feel safe and comfortable. This can make the prospect of life after treatment stressful and uncomfortable. Thankfully, while the most intensive phase of your treatment may be over, you will not have to resume normal life alone.
It is strongly recommended that all patients start an outpatient program after they have completed their inpatient care. Outpatient care is usually the last step of care for a person seeking eating disorder treatment. This involves a variety of therapies, which include therapy, support groups, and continued nutritional counseling. A person may participate in these care types for several months to the rest of their life to ensure they make healthy choices.
At Tapestry, we provide two phases of outpatient care to help people transition from their inpatient program:
- Partial Hospitalization– This is a program for people who have already completed inpatient care or who have an eating disorder but do not require inpatient care. Patients will spend much of their day here, but do not live in the hospital.
- Intensive Outpatient Treatment– In these programs, patients will spend several hours a day in therapy, support groups, and other treatments. This allows patients to get continued support on a daily or near-daily basis while adjusting to life bat home.
We Prepare Patients for Life After Treatment
Adjusting to life at home can be one of the most difficult steps of treatment. At Tapestry, we know that patients who have not been empowered to manage their meals, make healthy decisions, or set their own schedules are more likely to backtrack on their progress. We have designed our programs to avoid these pitfalls. It is our goal to help every patient address the root causes of their mental health issues and feel comfortable maintaining their progress at home.
